Joe built our dream house on the water at the Jersey Shore and we could not be more pleased. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is beyond reproach. At the beginning of our build, Joe said “You better get used to me, as we will be talking constantly,” because he wanted to make sure we were getting exactly what we envisioned. And he delivered, even beyond our expectations.

In 2013 after Super Storm Sandy and caused ample damage to the Jersey Shore in 2012, my husband and I thought it might be our opportunity to make a longtime dream come true, of living on the water. We sent out to find a damaged property to purchase and bring back to life either in Little Egg Harbor or Tuckerton NJ. Once we found a property we thought might be the one, I recalled having met a young, 3rd generation, local builder, by the name of Joe Hartley. I reached out to Joe and asked if he would be available to meet us at the property to discuss the possibilities of the property and if he would be interested in the project. Joe promptly met us at the property and explained what could be done and areas of concern, which we 100% appreciated. He suggested we look at a house he had recently built and we discussed the differences between repairing the damaged property and a new build. We then decided the new build was the best way to make our dream come true. We spend about 2 months looking at either vacant lots or damaged properties. Joe was always available to meet and discuss the possibilities. Once we settled on a property Joe suggested a local architect and we began creating our home. Joe, as well as his small group of sub-contracters, demo, electrical, plumbing were all very easy to work with. Joe is a very hands on builder, he was daily on property. My husband who is a retired commercial carpenter was on site for many stages of the build and was always impressed by the quality of the workmanship being done. He was mostly impressed by the framing of the entire house, how each cut was so precise. Joe at times would make suggestions of changing a design feature from our original drawing to create a more open ceiling or moving a closet,adding a closet, etc, we appreciated his vision in customizing our home. In addition he was always willing to listen if we had an idea, wanted to change something, or add something and he accommodated when possible.
We've been living in our dream home for 7 years now without any issues having selected an established local builder. If you're looking for a builder to build your dream home Joe Hartley Construction is the one to make it happen.
